The NewBridge Project
The NewBridge Project is an active artist-led organisation that supports practitioners, curators and communities through the provision of space for creative practice, curatorial opportunities and an ambitious programme of exhibitions, commissions, professional development and events.
Having launched their inaugural content managed site in 2013, we were asked to redesign and develop the NewBridge Project’s online presence to support a refreshed visual identity and introduce new options to increase digital engagement for artists. We worked with the NewBridge team to deliver a bespoke WordPress website featuring events management with ticketing, an artists directory with over 500 user-managed public profiles editable via a custom account area and a WooCommerce store with integrated Stripe payments.
A paid associate membership model for distributed practitioners is driven by WooCommerce Subscriptions. An online application process captures career stage information and equal opportunities data, offers tiered recurring billing options at checkout, and builds in a backend layer of admin content review and vetting before the new user-managed artist profile is published. A ‘microsite’ framework helps to position distinct artist development programmes Practice Makes Practice and The Collective Studio with autonomous identities and styling, all managed under one domain and editable via a single WordPress CMS.
